What was the SMARTEST choice you made?

Recently, I asked a bunch of coaches what was their smartest choice in the process of becoming a professional coach.
I knew you'd be curious and you might want to follow in their footsteps. So here are their responses:

Following my own authentic voice and not giving in to standards, other's opinions and marketing strategies (unless I really loved them.) Your coaching practice is about sharing your knowledge and your experience and potential clients are looking for a perfect fit in YOU!

Talking to many other coaches and understanding what it was all about. Identifying a niche early on and sticking with it.
Made up my mind to be the best possible coach I could be. All my other choices stemmed from that and made me successful faster.
To start, I gave my service away free to a group within one company. This started me very quickly, and taught me more than I knew. I also created a survey to understand my abilities, and strengths. This created confidence.
Hired a master coach to mentor me.
To get professional training while being affiliated with a certification process.
Coached 100 people.
I'm really not pandering here: my smartest choice was to invest in coach specific training. I already feel that my coaching skills have grown exponentially in the last few weeks.
Joined a coaching study group. It was a safe place to talk about what I was going through and I got a lot of support there.
My previous experience in working with different kinds of people - the clients of the company I work in. It triggered my interest in becoming a coach for individuals. I observed a lot of similarities between my work and the work of a coach.
I got into a really good coaching triad and practiced until I knew what I was doing.
Showing up and just leaping rather than taking small steps.
Hired a successful business coach to help me.
Coached tons of people.
Put my intuitive self in the driver's seat and when something scares me--do it.
