We've been so overwhelmed by phone calls and emails from the thousands of people who have registered for Free Coach Training, that we needed to find a more efficient way to answer you. So here it is!

Here are a few questions that we get a lot:

When will the next Coaching Certificate Exam be open? Answer: It varies, but we offer it about 4 times per year. Watch your inbox for an invitation. Find out more about the Coaching Certificate Exam by going here.
Which courses do I need to register for to take the exam? Answer: You must register individually for all 5 of the following courses: Coaching Groundwork, New Paradigms for Coaches, What Drives Your Client, Do the Right Thing, Designing the Coach/Client Relationship.
What do I do if I don't receive emails from School of Coaching Mastery? Answer: To troubleshoot your email deliverability, download this document.

It's undoubtedly world class and the best thing is it relates not just to the methods/technique of good coaching skills but to matters of the heart and spirit that enhances the profession. Yes Julia, I'm becoming a coach myself. Got the 'aha'realization that this is what I want to do in life, only last year and have been studying up and listening to audio programs on coaching. Have begun coaching a few ex-colleagues on a complimentary basis (for the hands-on experience) and it's been I who end up learning from them... very heartening. Can clearly see the evolving benefits of the Coach 100 program. And really appreciate the outcome of the Best Coaching Blogs contests. That's how I discovered your great site!Looking forward to the next one.

Hi Giovanna - Thanks for your question. Results are usually sent out via email within one week after the exam closes. If you passed, you will receive your certificate by email usually two weeks after the exam closed.

Most likely this has been asked and answered already...but I could only find 2 answers to questions on the list?
I tried to get on the link posted for the exam about 10 times...but every time it cut off.
Is there anyway to avoid this so next time it comes around I can take the exam?
Any ideas why this was happening and how to avoid it?
The email connection I had was mediumly strong.

Hi Julienne - Sorry you're having trouble with the exam link. Most people are not having that problem. There are a couple of possibilities why this is happening:

1. If you try to access the exam after it has closed, you won't get in. Check the dates when you receive the exam invitation.

2. If you've already taken the exam, the exam software will recognize you and will not let you in. Only take it once, please.

3. It's best to take the exam with a very stable wired connection. An unstable connection or a wireless connection can cause you to get cut off at any point in the process.

Hi Sharm - We don't have a date for the exam, but it will be soon. Sorry to be so vague. We have to coordinate it with other time-consuming events at SCM, such as the Best Coaching Blogs Contest, which comes up in May.

As always, if you want to know when the next exam is, be sure to register for all 5 courses and watch your inbox.

I registered for the 5 online coach certificate courses but only received a registration confirmation for 2 of the classes. Is this a technology glitch? And, how can I confirm that the computer system does recognize me and that I will receive an email for the next exam date? thanks for letting me know!

Hi Mary - Thanks for your question. We've answered this or similar questions, but here goes:

1. Be sure you register for all 5 courses with the exact same name and email address.
2. If you're not receiving emails from us, you'll need to white list info [@] schoolofcoachingmastery [.] com or add it to your address book or whatever else your internet service provider requires, so our emails don't get blocked as SPAM.
3. If you didn't receive welcome letters, you won't receive an invitation. Try registering again.
4. Unfortunately, this is the only way to access this test.

Hi E and Michael ~ There are numerous factors that affect email deliverability and we don't have control over many of them. If you signed up for all 5 courses with the same email address and name, you should get the next invitation to the exam. Best to white list both info [@] schoolofcoachingmastery [.] come and julia [@] schoolofcoachingmastery [.] come to get all your emails from us. I hope this helps!

Marsha - Invitations have gone out since you signed up, so either you overlooked it or it went into your SPAM filter or some other problem. Be sure that you registered for each course with the same exact email address and name. Otherwise, our automatic system will not recognize you and include you in upcoming invitations. In addition, you need to do whatever your SPAM filters require, so that the email gets through to you.

Hi E - This question has already been answered in previous comments. If you have already done everything recommended in those comments and still are not receiving the exam invitation, then you may want to set up a new free email account with a service such as, Gmail, and sign up for all the courses again. Sorry for the extra work. We've done all we can at our end. Because it is a relatively tiny number of people experiencing this problem, we believe it is local, so you need to fix it at your end.

Brenda - Two possible payment methods would be for clients to mail you a check or pay online through an account such as Paypal.

I'm beginning the free courses, but have been unable to listen to any of the classes. I subscribed to AudioAcrobat, but either I don't know how to do it, or I'm doing something horribly wrong. Looking forward to taking all the classes, getting my certificate and doing what I was born to do.

Hi! I have enjoyed taking the 5 free courses and have learnt a lot. Now I am looking forward to taking the exam. However, I realized that I only have 3 email confirmations that I signed up for the courses--two of the courses don't seem to register my name as having signed up. I have tried to sign up again but still don't get an email. I don't think I will be notified for the exam if I'm not registered as having signed up. Any ideas?

Hi Juhar - The Free Coach Training program provides a free exam and Coaching Certificate, not a coach certification.

Your program probably requires a recognized certification by ICF or IAC. School of Coaching Mastery can help you with that.

Hi Chris - Thanks for your comment. I'm glad you're enjoying the course. The free version comes with 4 coaching guides that you can download on the same page as your recordings. There are a few extras that only come with the live paid version of the course. Sorry!

I see that the issue of not receiving 5 class confirmation is a recurring one. This is disconcerting for those of us who have taken the time to do the 5 courses and are left to wonder if we will be notified of the exam. How would you know that we have taken all 5? We deserve to have something to show for it until we can afford step 2. They do not go to my spam folder, because I check and because I receive lots of emails from SCM. Is it in the realm of possibility to have an IT person check the autoresponders? Something is not set up right for this many folks to have this issue. Thanks! : )

Hi Martha - Thanks for your concern. Actually, the number of people who report this problem is quite small compared to the 1,500+ people taking the program. Cyberspace is not always reliable, but if you take the remedies I've suggested above, you should have a good experience. In any case, it's possible to take all five courses, even if you don't receive email from us, by bookmarking the course pages. It's a lot of value and they are completely free. The downside is that the free program doesn't include the personal assistance with such issues that we provide to our paid members. I hope this helps!

Is it possible that the problem with not receiving all 5 class registrations is heavily under-reported? I didn’t realize until a few months had gone by that I never received but 1 class registration confirmation, and like many others have posted, I have completed all the tips/suggestions in order to fix the issue. Of the 1,500+, I’m wondering how many actually get an invitation to take the test when it becomes available? My thought is it’s significantly less than the number of people that think they have signed up to take it, but never receive all the confirmation emails. I understand this is a free program, and I think I can speak on behalf of everyone that we appreciate it, however there has to be some effort made to fix a problem that is outstanding……regardless if you are under the impression that it is only affecting a small population. My guess is it’s not. Thank you.

Thank you Julie, for posting after me with the same complaint that has been going on for months now. It makes me wonder if it's just a scam...Julia, I hesitate to say that it is hurting your school's credibility and I am quickly losing respect for it. Now, just based on principle and unwillingness to fix this issue for all of us, even if I could afford to attend, I don't know that I would now. Just cease offering the exam if you can't send confirmations that people took the 5 courses. I have tried your steps over and over....that is not the remedy. Also, it is sort of a reflection on your character to have the attitude that because it's free, we don't get the tech support that the paying people do. We might be future paying customers!!!! Apparently, you haven't looked at it that way. Thanks.

Hi MBD - There is no login for the Free Coach Training program. The Login link that you see in the upper right corner of our website is for the paid-members-only area, where we keep a wealth of coaching resources, such as sample coaching agreements, coaching programs and assessments to use with clients, resources that help our paid members become IAC or ICF Certified Coaches and more.
