Masterful Coaching: Distinct and Succinct

Certified Coach Training

You know you're hearing great coaching in class when the both coach and client are so intrigued that they can't wait to set up another coaching call! It's happening a lot on the SCM Module calls. Each mastery is covered in four two-hour eClasses. Each class covers an one aspect of that Mastery with a Coaching Guide, discussion and demonstration by the instructor, followed by the coaches dividing up into triads for an hour of practice and observation, with the instructor dropping in to each triad for additional feedback. All of it is recorded for review and each Module gets its own web page with graphics for the students to follow in class.

After eight hours on a Module, they know that Mastery!

We've just finished Either/Or Questions, followed by Distinctions and the Ad Hoc Advisors are jumping in to help me create SCM's own "distinctionary" for future reference! Next we're onto Zeroing In On What's Really Going On, a path of inquiry that uncovers what's important, followed by Taking It Deeper, looking at trends, dynamics and patterns.

I think I throw them sometimes, because I expect them all to fully participate and some of them are used to taking sleepy teleclasses while they read their email! This is the School of Coaching Mastery, afterall, not just another school on coaching. Of course I expect more! That's why the classes are small and we have so much practice ~ So people actually know how to coach when they get done!

Upcoming Coaching Classes

I just finished the Coaching Guide for tomorrow's class on Distinctions, part of the Clarifying Module. During the beta-launch, I'm working over time just to keep up! It'll put me ahead of the game in the Fall, though, when the full program launches. The feedback has been wonderful.

I'll be scheduling several more classes over the next few days, including Modules 1: Establishing & Maintaining a Relationship of Trust and 2: Perceiving and Affirming the Client's Potential. Those will be fun! I may also schedule an evening section of Clarifying Module, if enough people want to do it. These Modules will come up in July and August.

Just finished running a survey of the SCM Ad Hoc Advisors on what I should call the upcoming free introductory classes, "Become a Masterful Coach" or "Become a Certified Coach"?

"Become a Masterful Coach" won, 2 to 1!

No surprise, most coaches "get" that certification is a byproduct of mastery. So a class on how to become a masterful coach is automatically a bigger and more inspiring game, because it gets to the heart of why coaches coach. Namely: To generate success for themselves and their clients. Certification is just a measurement of the coach's ability to do this. And of course, a class on mastery can naturally include information on how to get certified in the process of becoming masterful.

The very first "Become a Masterful Coach" eClass will be offered to Ad Hoc Advisors only, later this month. If you'd like to be invited, be sure to join the AHA's (it's free, of course), by clicking the link below.

And if you want updates on the school and upcoming classes, as well as articles and interviews and ~ a bit of humor ~ be sure to subscribe to the Coaching Mastery News, below.

It's interesting what happens when you choose the right goal. Since I decided to do this project a few months ago, I've gradually shared it with more an more people. Virtually everyone has been supportive, even the majority of "low energy" supporters, you know, those people who say nice things, but aren't really engaged ~ Even most of them are excited about SCM!

And we're moving forward. Today, the site went "Live". Not polished yet, by a long stretch, but we have our web presence and that makes it all "real". Today Diana will get the banner and link to this site up on my main coaching site: YourLifePart2.com so visitors will be able to find us. YourLifePart2.com gets a fair amount of traffic. One day, SCM will get even more traffic. Pretty exciting!!

School of Coaching Mastery Website Scramble

Just found out that the coach ertification article, Open Up Whole New Worlds for People (And Yourself), that I wrote for the IAC Voice is coming out in a few days. Of course, I knew it was coming out soon, but confirming it has lit a fire under me. My VA, Diana McFarlane and I had a laugh about my panicky emails! Okay, slow deep breaths...

This website needs to progress quickly, so readers of the article have somewhere to visit that looks respectable. I'm not a details person, which gives me speed, but I can use a few eagle eyes. If you're great at spotting typo's I'd love to hear from you. In fact, I have a special division of the Ad Hoc Advisors, called "The Gotcha Gang" who help me with exactly that kind of thing.
