Certification Prep FAQ

How is the Certification Prep Intensive organized?
You will take turns coaching other coaches in this small group (Maximum: 10 coaches). It’s very intense. You’ll be impressed by the quality of the coaching you hear and how fast you learn.
1. Every coaching session will be scored by two master trainers, Julia Stewart, IAC-CC, President of the School of Coaching Mastery and Donna Steinhorn, IAC-CC, Master Instructor.

2. Your two thirty-minute coaching sessions will be recorded according to IAC rules.
3. The trainers will give you immediate feedback and discussion of what worked, what didn’t, and how you can improve next time.

3. Your scores will be shared with you privately at the end of the event and at that time, you’ll receive advice and instructions on how to proceed with certification and resources that can help you.

4. Your recordings will be emailed to you in MP3 format after the event, ready to turn into the IAC.
5. You’re on your own for meals. Water, tea and coffee will be available all day.

"Attending the Certification Prep weekend in Houston in March was the best decision I have ever made regarding my coaching practice!" - Art Gangel, IAC-CC

Who is this Intensive primarily designed for?

While all coaches are most welcome, the Certification Prep Intensive has been designed for:
1. Coaches who have training and experience and think they may be ready for IAC Certification.
2. Coaches who enjoy hands-on training and the chance to upgrade their coaching style and approach.
3. Coaches who are committed to achieving mastery and creating greater results with their clients.
This intensive works for both newer coaches and experienced coaches. (Given the structure of the Masteries, experienced coaches will learn on an even higher level).

“Anyone who is committed to his or her own greatness should take this course!”

- Kristi Arndt, IAC-CC, idealscoach.com

What will I learn at the Certification Prep intensive?
1. You’ll practice and learn the Coaching Masteries in the most intensive format available.

2. You’ll learn where your strengths and weaknesses are in your coaching and get targeted instruction on how to upgrade your skills rapidly for more effectiveness.

Please note: You will not be certified at the end of the training. That is a separate step, but the training is 100% focused on preparing you for the Certified Coach designation/testing.

“It was one the most intensive professional coaching trainings I have attended, from two masterful coaches." - Dr Paul Jeong, IAC-CC; Director of ILCT Korea

Miscellaneous questions...

1. Is this intensive for advanced coaches only? No, new coaches are welcome and some of them get certified soon after.

2. Will you be focusing on the new IAC Coaching Masteries™? Yes.

3. What if I want to get certified in Thomas Leonard’s Coaching Proficiencies? The IAC is phasing those out at the end of this year, but we will score you in BOTH during this intensive.
4. Will I be certified by the end of this intensive? No, it's not a certification weekend. But you will either leave with two recordings of your coaching that are ready to pass, or you’ll know exactly what you need to work on to pass IAC Certification.
5. How do I get certified with these two recordings? You will turn them into the IAC for certification. Go here for directions: http://www.certifiedcoach.org/certify/certification.html

“It takes talent, patience, superior coaching skills, great insight, tact and finesse to be able to help a coach learn in action. From my experience with Donna and Julia, I'd say these two ‘coach whisperers’ have it all.” - Dr. Susan R. Meyer, IAC-CC;

“The beauty of this weekend was threefold: 1) to observe and learn different coaching styles and skills from peers as we alternated in roles of coach and coachee, 2) to boost confidence in my ability to masterfully coach others, and 3) to bond with a small group of coaches, some of whom attended from other countries.” - Tandelyn Atkinson Weaver, IAC-CC; MBA http://www.transformmylife.com/
